A Remebrance and a Living Friend

This was a wonderful commission for me. Sadly Chloe passed away before completion of the piece so this piece became not only a Christmas gift for my client's husband, but a memorial for his favourite friend. The photos in the lower left are the shots that I worked from. Many thanks to Janet for being my biggest supporter. I was thrilled when her hubby came up to me in Lowes to thank me and tell me how much he loved this piece.

Christmas Commissions

This year has been great for Christmas commissions!! Thanks to everyone who have shared their pet family with me. I've just completed another memorial portrait which I will post shortly and now am off to create a watercolour of two delightful dogs.

I love to paint and draw cats, there is such a mystery about them that it is a challenge to capture their essence. Murphy was a memorial gift for one of my clients mom's birthday. "...she absolutely loved her gift, she started to cry. You got the eyes perfect!" - Janet

Just wanted to share some other non-furry friends that I like to paint. This is Prilla, friend of a very famous faerie named... Tink (short for Tinkerbell). There are a few other friends of Tink flying around a very special little girl's room. My dearest friend Lynda's little girl Jenna.

I love graphic markings and wrinklie faces! These babies will be wonderful to draw. Keep watching for the finished product.
